Stuart Brady has been selected by Loughborough members as Labour’s candidate for Loughborough.
As a barrister who regularly represents workers and trade union members Stuart is well placed to represent people from all backgrounds. Stuart has a track-record of leadership shown through his involvement in charities and elite sport.
Speaking after his selection, Stuart said:
"I'm humbled by the trust placed in me by the Loughborough Labour members.
"Loughborough and its surrounding areas badly needs a Labour government. I am delighted that I will be given the opportunity to lead our fantastic local party in making that happen.
"From local policing, and children's centres, to Leicestershire's NHS funding deficit, the effects of Tory austerity are being felt in this constituency.
"Our vision of hope and an economic alternative is as powerful in Loughborough as it is across the country.
"At this time I would like to express solidarity with the 270 workers whose jobs are currently threatened at the Brush. We must do everything possible as a labour movement to keep those jobs in Loughborough."
